#OneWord2021
After 2020, one thing that’s certain is we cannot predict what the future will bring. At the start of a new year, it is always refreshing to begin a new journey; 365 blank pages that we have the opportunity to write. Like many others, I felt I’ve lived in a whirlwind the past year. Cancelled events and at-home isolation made it feel as if the opportunities to grow and learn dwindled. Although the events of 2020 changed the story for so many of us, I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason. 2020 taught me flexibility, resilience, and adaptability. It taught me that tomorrow truly is a gift and allowed me to practice gratitude more sincerely. Each year, I reflect upon the previous year’s events, goals, accomplishments, and actions. Following the year of 2020 and its events, my one word for 2021 is ADAPT.
One of my favorite Bible verses reads: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." (Romans 12:2)
